Before your own journey – meet some of our volunteers!
Volunteers and internship at Sagun Social Organization come from multi of countries, cultures, and ages. We have been accepting volunteers a year for several years. We have found the experience to be life altering and affirming for both the volunteers. The volunteers remaining close to the Nepal orphans home family long after. At volunteer Nepal we are dedicated and well equipped to arrange for volunteers to be completely immersed in the culture by placement in the homes of village families where they share the daily life experiences of the average Nepalese family while working in the community in the capacity they have chosen. The volunteer will be rewarded by learning a lot about themselves as well as the lives of others in a developing country where language and religion, outlook and habits are all very different. Most volunteers leave with their life’s compass pointing clearly to a new direction in their lives. Nepal is beautiful, diverse and exotic and the people unforgettable. Your time here will be spent safely surrounded by a community grateful for your presence. Volunteers in Nepal have been contributing to constructive and rewarding projects for over 12 years. From caring for children in street shelters to helping preserve and enhance the conservation of some of the country’s most spectacular mountains, volunteers in Nepal are given the chance to experience the stunning sceneries, smiling faces, and welcoming nature of Nepalese lifestyle, whilst being part of a sustainable and worthwhile project at the same time. Volunteers in Nepal with Around the Himalayas have the opportunity to take part in a diverse range of volunteer projects and internships. These include working with children, teaching, medical and healthcare placements as well as community-based conservation projects.
Volunteers in Nepal are offered opportunities in hospitals, schools, care centers and rehabilitation centers based in and around Nepal. We also offer professional medical placements in Nepal. Most other volunteers will be placed in a host-family within the region that they are placed. Living with a family gives you the opportunity to live, eat, drink and sleep like a local, while meeting other volunteers and making friends from all around the world who are experiencing the same sensations of Nepalese life as you. There are always volunteers in Nepal; so you will always have the ‘volunteer family’ around to help you settle in and make the most of your time.
Volunteer in Nepal come to love the smiling faces of locals, learning about the fascinating history of Nepalese Monarchy and tasting local dishes such as Dal Bhat, making it a great location for volunteers of all ages and experience. This is why so many volunteers return, time after time, to give and to rediscover the joy of volunteering, all over again.
